Our team promote healthy working practices and are keen to promote our centre as part of a wider Canal ward partnership. We are proud to have become a Living Wage accredited Employer in April 2023.

Staff Team

Cathy

Caretaker & Book Keeping Assistant Cathy is our longest serving member of staff having worked at the centre for almost 20 years! She has been a great support in the most trying times and we are lucky to have her! Cathy takes care of all your booking needs and keeps the centre looking tip top.

Finlay

Finlay joined us in September 2023 as our Operations Support Administrator. He supports the various groups in the building, keeps our social media ticking over and the office nice and tidy!

Trustees

Chairperson - David

David is the Priest of St Matthew's Episcopal Church and has a passion for sustainable and environmental community development. He supports many local charities to deliver great activities and initiatives within the community.

Secretary - Ann

Ann is the manager of a local youth project and previously worked at the St Matthew's Centre. Ann is a member of the church and a local resident.

Treasurer - Paul

Paul was brought up in the East End of Glasgow where he attended St Mungo's Academy before going on to The University of Glasgow where he studied for The Bachelor of Accounting Degree. Upon graduating he did his formal training with the international accounting firm Deloittes in Glasgow and London. His working life has been spent in a number of various senior finance roles within SME's in London and Central Scotland. Socially he enjoy most sports especially football and worships at St Bride's Episcopal Church in Hyndland where he is a member of The Vestry and The Church Treasurer.

Trustee - Elliott

Elliott is a Trustee of St Matthews Centre and is the Diocesan representative on the Board. After graduating he trained as a chartered surveyor specialising in residential valuations and inspections and worked for corporate bodies- banks and building societies. He retired in 2015. Elliott is involved with the Church as Diocesan Surveyor and Guardian of the St Mungo Fraternity of the Scottish Guild of Servers. Outside church activities Elliott’s pastimes include golf- playing at Bishopbriggs Golf Club- badminton –reading ,and general socialising.

Trustee - Mike

Mike is a retired academic in the business and management field. A graduate of the University of Stirling, he was Dean of business faculty in the University of the West of Scotland and Queen Margaret University in Scotland, and in Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. Mike has advised Scottish and UK government Ministers, drawing on his research knowledge of public services management. Mike is also a Trustee with The Separated Child Foundation – a charity which supports child refugee and asylum-seekers arriving on their own in the UK. He has been a Trustee on several other charities since he retired in 2012..
